Abstract

This 2011 issue is my first as Editor. It has been an interesting and educational experience to say the least! As you can tell from the articles included in this issue, management accounting research accommodates many differing perspectives and methods to address related questions. Thus, it is not possible for one person to edit and decide on all submitted manuscripts. I relied heavily on the advice provided by a team of associate editors—Robert Chenhall, Thomas Hemmer, Anne Lillis, Don Moser, Geoff Sprinkle, and Karen Sedatole—who took on every assignment with good cheer. Members of the editorial board and many ad hoc reviewers (see list at the end of this issue) took the time to evaluate manuscripts and provide detailed comments. I can only give them a heartfelt “Thank You!”—a request to review another paper might be the only tangible reward they get! Finally, I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge Rick Young, the previous editor, who showed me the ropes and invested considerable time in helping me get started on this process.
