Abstract

The editorial for this special issue of Jazz Research Journal—on diversity and inclusion at jazz festivals—takes the form of a podcast. It can be accessed via the QR code below. In conversation with JRJ editor Nicolas Pillai, we discuss the journey of this special issue, the issues relating to diversity and inclusion in the current jazz scene, and offer a playlist inspired by the different people, places and problems of jazz that fill these pages. In order to ensure access to the key findings of this special issue for all, our contributing authors have also provided Executive Summaries and welcome future conversations and collaborations with jazz industry professionals, educationalists and scholars who are also keen to explore and address the issues raised.
