Abstract

There is a marked Canadian accent to this issue of TJT, not only in terms of the national and institutional associations of the authors, but also in the theme of Christian inculturation: Myroslaw Tataryn, associate professor at St. Thomas More College in Saskatoon, explores the origins of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Canada; Harris Athanasiadis, lecturer at Knox College in Toronto, outlines the spirituality at the heart of the political philosophy of the Canadian Anglican philosopher, George Grant; and Ovey Mohammed, SJ., professor at Regis College in Toronto, traces official Roman Catholic teaching on interreligious dialogue, a topic crucial to our highly multicultural Canadian milieu. Moreover, these Canadian scholars represent well this cultural diversity. Mohammed and Athanasiadis and Tataryn are all immigrants: Indo-Trinidadian, Armenian-Greek, and British-Ukrainian respectively.
