We published a paper by Carol Tenopir and Donald King (‘The use and value of scientific journals’) in our first volume and we publish another paper from Carol and her team in our final volume
In 2001, we included a paper from Simon Bevan entitled ‘Replacing print with e-journals: can it be done?’
Summary
Best hats and champers poured for your Eds’ valedictory address ... It is hard to believe that we took over the joint editorship of Serials as far back as 2001 – our first issue was Volume 14, No 1, March 2001. Looking back at that volume it is clear that many things in our industry have changed almost beyond recognition, but other issues have endured.
