Abstract

Editorial Christina Larocco I am pleased to introduce myself as the new editor of the Pennsylvania Magazine of History and Biography. I received my PhD from the Department of History at the University of Maryland, College Park. Before coming to the Historical Society of Pennsylvania, I spent several years teaching U.S. history and three as an assistant editor at the Samuel Gompers Papers. Most of the credit for this issue goes to outgoing editor Tamara Gaskell and former assistant editor Rachel Moloshok. Tamara shepherded the articles that appear here through peer review and all but final revisions. I am grateful for her help in easing this transition and will endeavor to meet the very high standard that she has set. The journal will continue to benefit from Rachel's expertise, which helped keep our production schedule on track, in her new role as managing editor. One of the joys of journal editing is encountering scholarship that I would not come across while pursuing my own research. With this new position, I am returning to my home state, but there is still much for me to discover about Pennsylvania history. I look forward to reading about, and learning from, the diverse research interests of the PMHB community in the years to come. [End Page 5] Copyright © 2016 The Historical Society of Pennsylvania
