Abstract

The Journal of the IGPL special issue Tools for Teaching Logic appears in the aftermath of the successful Second International Congress on Tools for Teaching [1], see http://logicae.usal.es/SICTTL/, that took place in Salamanca in September 2006. The first such congress also took place in Salamanca, in the year 2000; see http://aracne.usal.es/congress/congress.html. Preparations for the next event are already under way. After SICTTL, selected participants and speakers were asked to submit a paper to this special issue, and as a result of the two-stage reviewing process we are proud to present the result. In this editorial we position the rather interdisciplinary subject matter, partly by referring to SICTTL conference contributions, and we also summarily discuss the papers in the special issue. The editors of this special issue are Hans van Ditmarsch and Mara Manzano. Mara Manzano was the driving force behind the First and the Second ‘Tools for Logic’—imagine this well-deserved compliment to be written by Hans van Ditmarsch. Apart from Mara very many others were closely involved in the organization of SICTTL, in particular the other members of the local organization committte Bélen Pérez-Lancho, and Ana Gil. Hans van Ditmarsch's involvement in ‘Tools for Teaching’ is only as editor of this special issue.
