Abstract

Based on the literature review of the updated publications, this paper classifies the grouting methods, analyzes the grouting mechanisms for rock reinforcement, and points out the improvement direction on the grouting reinforcement in deep coal mines in terms of grouting parameters and installation processes. Grouting technologies for fractured rocks surrounding the deep roadways are classified into pregrouting in front of the heading face, grouting in excavation, and post-grouting for main roadway reinforcement. The application conditions of each grouting technology are evaluated through the field cases in the Kouzidong coal mine. The evaluation methods of grouting effect are divided into sampling, drilling observation, on-site observation, grouting parameter monitoring, and geophysical prospecting; on this basis, this paper lists out their respective application principles. Based on problems existing in the grouting reinforcement of fractured rocks surrounding deep roadways, this paper points out the future development directions for grouting technology. To be specific, the future research foci include: to improve the geomechanical testing and evaluation of roadway-surrounding rocks before grouting; to update the grouting reinforcement theory; to establish an information-based digital and dynamic grouting design method; to develop new grouting materials continuously; and to develop automatic and intelligent technology and equipment for grouting operation and new methods and apparatus for grouting effect evaluation. This paper by the team of Hongpu Kang, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, reviews comprehensively the theories and technologies of grouting reinforcement of fractured rocks surrounding the deep roadway. It also profiles their outstanding contributions to the theory, technology, and practice in this field. The methods and processes described in this paper are highly helpful and forward-looking. The future development directions on deep grouting theory and technology are outlined. The cases studied in the paper can be important references for researchers and engineers to guide their design, installation, and effect evaluation on grouting reinforcement.
