Abstract

Last year in this editorial space, I considered the broad question: What is a Yoga therapist and how does Yoga differ from Yoga therapy? This question is, or should be, of deep personal significance to anyone who teaches any aspect of Yoga to others. There is no simple answer; each Yoga teacher or therapist needs to clarify the issue for himself or herself. However, as Yoga becomes more widely recognized as a valid mode of therapy, it seems increasingly likely that some institutions. such as medical insurance companies, will want an objective measure of what qualifies a person to be a Yoga teacher or a Yoga therapist.
