Abstract

Many readers of Public Choice will know that I am editing, with introductions, a ten volume Series of The Selected Works of Gordon Tullock (Tullock 2004-2006). Liberty Fund, Inc. is publishing these volumes both in hardcover and paperback. Details are available at www.libertyfund.org. Readers who follow Tullock through this ten volume Series, in his fiftyyear Odyssey across the often turbulent waters of political economy, will become fully acquainted with his originality, with the breadth and with the depth of his contributions. Let me focus instead on the nature of the man and on the impulses that have directed his lifetime's work.
