Abstract
The African Journal of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (AJIE) was created in January 2022 to showcase African innovation and entrepreneurship. This is the maiden volume and issue of the journal following its establishment, and I am elated to serve as its editor-in-chief with firm belief that the journal will feed into Africa’s development. AJIE is unique as it focuses on publishing knowledge related to innovation and entrepreneurship in Africa and by extension captures how small and medium-sized enterprises in Africa organize business. This volume contains a mix of knowledge captured as academic papers and practitioner viewpoints. Before I touch on the material in this volume, I shall first provide a perspective on innovation and entrepreneurship in Africa.
