Interest in RARC has increased in recent years, and, as in other areas of urology in which robotics has taken hold, enthusiasm and early adoption have been largely based on the belief that robotics can improve the outcomes. In recent years, the volume and merit of QOL research on cystectomy and urinary diversion have increased. Validated instruments are now frequently used to measure QOL.1 A clear analysis of our QOL report shows that we do not assert that RARC “translates to better outcomes” compared with open radical cystectomy.
