Abstract

Bladder cancer (BC) is the second most common tobacco-related malignancy. Relative to more prominent tobacco-related malignancies, such as cancer of the lung and oropharynx, little is known about the implications of continued tobacco use after the diagnosis of BC. Cessation of tobacco use after the diagnosis of lung or oropharyngeal cancer improves disease-specific recurrence, progression, and survival.1-4 Whether the same is true after the diagnosis of BC is yet to be determined.
