Abstract

Efficacy of the male sling has been suboptimal in men who have received adjuvant or salvage external beam radiation (XRT). 1 Comiter C.V. Dobberfuhl A.D. The artificial urinary sphincter and male sling for postprostatectomy incontinence: which patients should get which procedure?. Rather the artificial urinary sphincter (AUS) remains the procedure of choice in radiated patients, as circumferential compression is necessary for adequate urethral coaptation.
