Abstract

The authors hope to further bring the advances of minimally invasive surgery from the adult world into the pediatric arena. Their technique is essentially the “LESS” technique and it raises some questions. Why did they not use one of the commercially available single-site trocars that accommodate a camera and 2 instruments? Why do the authors believe that the procedure took longer than the average laparoscopic orchidopexy; was it due to a learning curve with this new technique or was it because of greater difficulty from clashing instruments?
