Abstract
This study reports the perioperative complications of a series of 45 patients who had undergone robotic-assisted radical cystectomy (RARC) with intracorporeal urinary diversion. The authors observed a 40% early complication rate using the Clavien classification at 30 days. Although a 90-day complication rate was not reported, 31% had complications at >30 days after surgery. The creation of a complete intracorporeal urinary diversion for patients undergoing radical cystectomy is a major advance in our field and is the reflection of steady improvements to the operative techniques within a relatively short period. The authors should be congratulated for their achievements and influence on the care for patients with this disease.
