Abstract

The authors present a large retrospective cohort of patients with pelvic fracture urethral injury (UR), who underwent posterior urethroplasty with an expert surgeon (and a wonderful guy by all reports). The authors report outstanding results, with >95% of patients being free from postoperative stricture. These results are similar to other recent retrospective outcome studies.1 Some important injury characteristics included a 13% rate of concomitant bladder injury and a 6% utilization of pelvic angioembolization.
