Abstract

Plenary speakership at national meetings serve as important career milestones within academic medicine, as they increase visibility and reputation of the presenter which ties heavily into career advancement and promotion.1 In this study, the authors describe contemporary patterns in female representation on plenary sessions at the American Urological Association Annual Meeting. Overall, 12% of panelists were women, and approximately 60% of panels during the study period were comprised solely of men.
