Abstract
Orthopaedic Association (APOA), held in New Delhi in October, I was elected Editor-in-Chief, to take over from Dr David Fang. After years of dedicated, self-less service to the Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery and APOA, Dr Fang has decided to handover the reins, while remaining as Editor Emeritus. On behalf of the APOA Council, I would like to thank Dr Fang for his commitment to the Journal, and making the Journal into a truly international publication with submissions from all corners of the world. I have appointed Dr Frankie Leung as Deputy Editor to assist me in managing the Journal. Over the next year, we will be taking stock of our current position, and looking at ways in which the Journal can better serve your needs. Based on our initial foray into journal matters, we are pleased with the progress to date. The Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery is indexed and therefore searchable via most popular databases, such as Pubmed, Medline, OVID, and Scopus. This ensures high visibility and helps to increase our popularity for authors around the world. Over the past year, the Journal has received submissions from more than 20 different countries, not only from within the Asia-Pacific region, but also from Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Spain, UK, and the US.
