Abstract
The response rate of 65.9% (337 trainees were sent the survey) was lower than 74.9% in 2001. Although not statistically significant, 52% of female trainees felt inadequately prepared for this operation compared with 42% of male trainees. In their earlier study, trainees were more likely to perform this procedure in their second year, but latterly found this is more likely to be done in the first year.
