Edge Feature Extraction about Moth Digital Image in Agricultural Field

Abstract

First to introduce the image pre-processing method for digital image of moth in agricultural field, after, using Otsu method to segment the digital image of moth, there are some false target regions and false background regions should be eliminated from the segmented digital image. The edge feature can be extracted by computing the distance of edge pixels to the centroid point for individual moth image target region. The edge feature is different for different kind moth; a moth can be classified to a certain kind moth if the edge feature of the moth resembles a certain kind moth’s edge feature.
