Abstract

The immense increase in the number of electronic systems in the vehicle has resulted in an increase on the demands made of efficient and reliable diagnostics in service. At the same time, the methods of vehicle diagnostics have long since broken the confines of the repair shop and are now being used in an identical or similar way in engineering, testing and manufacturing. By using standardized data structures and methods, the diagnostics of ECUs also serves as a link between different business processes, says Softing.
