Abstract

A 60-year-old man was referred to our institution for an asymptomatic gastric mass found at a routine checkup. Ten years previously, he was diagnosed with a 0.8-cm gastric submucosal tumor at another hospital, and 6 years previously, he underwent a splenectomy after a traffic accident. EGD showed a 2.4-cm elevated lesion along the posterior wall of the fundus (A). EUS demonstrated a 2.8 × 2.2-cm, well-delineated, homogeneous, mixed hyperechoic lesion of the serosal layer of gastric wall (B). The homogeneously enhancing nodules in the posterior wall of the gastric fundus and the enhancing lesions in the left upper quadrant (arrows) on enhanced CT (C) (top), correspond to focal technetium-99m phytate uptake on single-photon emission CT (middle) and single-photon emission CT/CT fusion (bottom) images.
