Abstract
SummaryThe hospital incidence and problems in the diagnosis of ectopic pregnancy have been assessed at Ealing Hospital. The ratio of ectopic pregnancy to total births over 28 weeks was 1: 73. Ectopic pregnancy was found in 48 patients, but 37 other patients needed either laparoscopy or laparotomy to exclude this diagnosis. β-Subunit human chorionic gonadotrophin assay might be useful in improving diagnostic accuracy.
