Abstract

The ECRH heating is investigated by two ways. A plasma produced by a ECRH plasma source has two components of different electron temperatures. The R.F. heating of a plasma produced by a coaxial plasma gun is also studied. For the latter case, the resonance absorptions at ω =ωce and ω=ωce/2 are observed, where ωce is the electron cyclotron frequency. In the frequency range wher ω<ωce /2, the non-resonant absorption occurs. This may be attributed to the Whistler wave mode.
