Abstract
This interactive workshop will focus on experiences and challenges of communicating with patients about psychosis. It is based on research identifying what works and what does not work in naturally occurring communication between psychiatrists and psychotic patients. It will include a voices simulation exercise, learning specific cognitive behaviour therapy techniques (e.g. Socratic questioning, normalising) and applying them in role play exercises. Participants will work in small groups and there will be time for feedback and questions with the larger group.
