Abstract
ABSTRACT This paper gathers results from several numerical, analytical and experimental studies in an attempt to answer most of the practical questions that rise when trying to quantify the workability of a given fresh concrete with empirical tests such as the Abrams cone test or the slump flow… Several physical phenomena are successively analyzed and asymptotical solutions of the flow are obtained in two extreme case (high and low slumps) and compared to experimental results in the case of concretes and cement pastes. Finally, the limits of the slump flow test used as a SCC reception test are demonstrated and an alternative test is presented.
