Abstract

AbstractEnergy consumption such as steam and electricity for processing various oilseeds, particularly sunflower and rapeseed, is compared for three different processes‐conventional prepressing and solvent extraction, direct solvent extraction, and cold prepressing of whole seed and solvent extraction. Besides emphasizing energy, the talk discusses aspects of quality and economics of edible oil production.
