Abstract

Contemporary Economics education is one of the major steps on the way of developing a new economy in Russia. Its major goal is teaching secondary school and university students to make effective decisions and to be responsible citizens. What do these big words mean? What economic issues are secondary school graduates likely to encounter when they grow up, and in what circumstances is it going to happen? How is Economics education in Russian secondary schools and universities responding to the challenges of time? The author of the article has been teaching Economics at secondary schools and university since 1998. In this paper, she shares her experience and reflections on the questions stated above, and is inviting her colleagues to discussion.
