Abstract

An inventory model is considered in which inventory is depleted not only by a linearly increasing demand, but also by a constant rate of deterioration. Shortages are allowed during the fixed finite planning horizon. In the model an economic ordering policy can be obtained by solving the first order conditions. A numerical example is given to illustrate the results
