Abstract

Economic inequality in society has been a critical public issue for years, but received a new boost in the aftermath of the global financial crisis. Yet, barring a few exceptions, management theory has lagged popular perceptions in tying business to economic inequality. To address this gap, this symposium brings into focus potential theories to explain the complex relationship between economic inequality and the firm from the unique perspective of organization studies and management.
