Abstract

The electric energy router (EER) is gradually introduced into the power supply system of data centers to make the system operate more efficient and flexible in order to deal with the issue of the connection of the fluctuant renewable resource. This paper puts forward three feasible schemes for power supply system of data center with the PV generation and the EER. To evaluate the best performance of the data center power supply system, an optimization model is proposed with an improved EER loss model, in which the EER loss is described as a quadratic polynomial to each port power of the EER. By solving the optimization model, two indexes of minimum operating cost and power supply and distribution efficiency are obtained to evaluate the 3 schemes of the data center power supply system. Then the scenarios of the PV output variation in different seasons are analyzed, and the synthesized indexes based on the above 2 indexes are used to give an overall evaluation to the 3 schemes of the data center power supply system, in which the probability of each scenario is taken as the weight coefficient. The results show that the EER could provide more flexible operation modes to consume the fluctuant renewable PV resource while making the system operate in a better efficient way and the evaluation method considering the multi-scenario could be a reference for the analysis of the networking solutions or schemes.
