Abstract

AbstractAfter a preliminary analysis of global trade data, three main routes of global live animal transport, which were found significant globally, were considered in the report. The first part covers live animal exports from Australia and New Zealand to the Middle East, which concerns mainly sheep. This route represents 81% of Australian live sheep exports, and has been considered one of the most important in a global perspective. The second part of the report deals with the live animal trade in North America, on different routes between the USA, Canada and Mexico. Finally, the third part reviews a European case, which is live export from Poland to Italy.
