In light of the British Government's stated position linking further decolonization with self-determination and economic progress, this paper considers the economic and political prospects within the four British Atlantic Dependent Territories of Bermuda, the Falkland Islands, St Helena and Dependencies and the Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI). It concludes that only in Bermuda is there much interest in independence and even here it is a divisive issue.
