Highlights
Ecological transformation of the economy is a possible alternative for future development and dealing with crises in most countries around the world
The aim of the study is to analyze what environmental business practices and environmental management systems are applied by companies operating on the Bulgarian market, and what incentive policies should be applied by the government to encourage the ecological transformation of the Bulgarian economy
The research tasks underlying the implementation of the aim of the study can be summarized as follows: First, present the state of environmental responsibility implemented by business organizations operating on the Bulgarian market by uncovering the motives and obstacles for the implementation of various forms of environmental practices and environmental management systems; Second, analyze the capacities of the government to encourage and facilitate the ecological transformation of the Bulgarian economy, through public resources, eco-fiscal measures and suitable incentive policies
Summary
Ecological transformation of the economy is a possible alternative for future development and dealing with crises in most countries around the world. Viable, resource-efficient and environmentally friendly development model is a prerequisite without which long-term and the mid-term development of our economy would become more and more difficult. The challenge is mostly in the national context, but it is part of our country’s European and international commitments in this direction This means using the restrictions related to environmentally friendly production as leverage for economic and social development on the one hand, and as a catalyst of the process related to income growth and reducing social inequality, on the other
