Abstract

Model of echo-to-interference ratio of bistatic sonar in shallow water was set up. Transmission loss of direct blasts at receiver were calculated with coherent multipaths transmission model based on ray theory in shallow water. Bistatic target strength of Simple BeTSSi-submarine versus azimuthal and bistatic angles were obtained by using Kirchhoff approximation; reverberation levels are calculated by 3-D bottom scattering model. Characteristics of echo-to-interference ratio in bistatic system were given. The results demonstrate that isolines of echo-to-interference ratio for bistatic sonar is more than other geometry configurations when mirror scattering is formed with positions of target, source and receiver.
