Abstract
Use of the Amplatzer Septal Occluder device to close selected secundum atrial septal defects is ever-increasing. This article illustrates the central role of the echocardiologist before, during, and after percatheter closure with the Amplatzer Septal Occluder device. Figures, diagrams, and tables detail each stage of the evaluation, procedure, and postprocedural assessment. (J Am Soc Echocardiogr 2001;14:588-94.)
