Abstract

M-mode and two-dimensional echocardiographic features are reported in a patient who developed severe stenosis of a porcine xenograph valve implanted in the aortic position. The presence of increased cusp echoes along with reduced cusp opening was the most consistent echocardiographic finding in this patient. The clinical and the echocardiographic findings were subsequently confirmed by cardiac catheterization and surgery.
