Abstract
Objectives. The purpose of this study was to evaluate left atrial mechanical function recovery by echocardiographic Doppler study following successful microwave ablation and/or cardioversion of persistent atrial fibrillation in patients who underwent open heart surgery. This study aims to relate changes in mitral a wave and pulmonary venous flow atrial reversal velocities to left atrial mechanical function recovery.
