Abstract

Background: Recent evidence has shown that professional soccer players with short biceps femoris long head (BFlh) fascicles are 4 times more likely to suffer a hamstring strain injury (HSI) than those who have longer fascicles. Therefore, the aim of this study was to determine (i) the time course of fascicle length adaptations of the BFlh following two methods of flywheel leg curl training; (ii) if measurements of knee flexor isometric strength and rate of force development (RFD) as well as eccentric strength are altered following flywheel leg curl training.
