Abstract

As the international hospitality and tourism industry moves towards higher utilisation on e-business, a major problem arises with the lack of standards. This paper aims at developing e-business standards for the international hospitality and tourism industry. Specifically, an electronic value chain analysis was first developed. Second, a set of standards was derived from the model. Third, the top 20 dominant companies were examined to find the current implementation pattern of these derived standards. The results from this research help the international hospitality and tourism business to set up e-business standards and accelerate e-business adoption to improve global competitiveness.
