Abstract
Human life is founded on virtue and common good of the society. Life is not commendable when one chooses to live recklessly just as he/she wants. One of the primary facets of Literatures of Ethics in Tamil is to foster meaningful values and adhere to them in life. Food customs indicate certain cultural formalities to be maintained as practice. This paper/thesis deals with a system of food customs that energize, develop cell-systems and cause good functioning of bodily organs as oriented by “Aasarakovai”.

Human life is founded on virtue and common good of the society. Life is not commendable when one chooses to live recklessly just as he/she wants. இலக்கியம் இலக்கியத்திற்காக அல்லாமல் சமுதாயத்திற்காகப் படைக்கப்படும் பபாது அது நிடலத்து நீண்ைப் பயடைத் தருகிறது. குறிப்பாகப் பதிகைண் கீழ்க்கணக்கு நூல்கள் நலத்திற்கும், முன்பைற்றத்திற்கும் உரிய வழிகடை எடுத்தியம்புகின்றது. மைிதைின் அடிப்படைத் பதடவகைாை உணவு, உடை, உடறயுள் இவற்றில் உணவு பற்றிய பழக்க வழக்கங்கடை ஆசாரக்பகாடவ எவ்வாறு எடுத்தியம்புகின்றது என்படத இக்கட்டுடர ஆராய்கின்றது. மைிதன் உயிர் வாழ்வதற்குத் பதடவயாை சக்தி (ஊட்ைச்சத்து) கிடைப்பதற்காக உண்ணப்படும் அடைத்துப் கபாருட்கடையும் நாம் உணவு என்பற அடழக்கின்பறாம்.
