Abstract

Rationale: Rapid postnatal weight gain is beneficial for neurodevelopment of preterm infants. Concerns are raised however about the influence of rapid growth on excessive fat mass (FM) gain in early life and later cardiometabolic health. We aimed to study the association between early postnatal weight gain and body composition in infancy in preterm infants.
