Abstract

A case of supravalvular pulmonary stenosis associated with an early systolic ejection click is described. This unusual combination demonstrates that the finding of an early systolic click in associat on with the clinical picture of pulmonary stenosis does not invariably indicate valvular stenosis but may also be associated with supravalvular stenosis of the pulmonary artery. The theoretic explanations for the production of this sound are discussed.
