Abstract

The early stages of decomposition in Al-3 at.% Ag were investigated by means of analytical Field-Ion Microscopy/Atom Probe (FIM/AP). The analysis indicates the coexistence of two metastable Ag-rich phases in the as-quenched state. The precipitation behaviour and a possible order-disorder transition between these phases are discussed
