Abstract

Inside Front Cover: The human crystalline lens is composed of densely packed biopolymers that are constantly exposed to UV light throughout life and whose dysfunction leads to cataract. High-resolution protein NMR spectroscopy identified the early onset of molecular UV-B damage of aromatic amino acids in γD crystallin as part of the photoprotective capacity of the lens. This is reported by Jochen Balbach and co-workers in article number 2200526.
