Abstract
(Am J Obstet Gynecol. 2019;220:100.e1–100.e9) There is a paucity of studies investigating the optimal mode of delivery for pregnant patients with preeclampsia with severe features, superimposed preeclampsia, eclampsia, or the syndrome of hemolysis, elevated liver enzymes, and low platelets in early preterm births. There is no consensus on this topic, which has not been investigated by any randomized controlled trials. To reduce the risk of maternal mortality and morbidity, early preterm delivery is often recommended when preeclampsia with severe features is diagnosed. This study aimed to compare maternal and neonatal outcomes by intended mode of delivery in pregnancies complicated by early preterm preeclampsia.
