Abstract

Missed abortions occur in up to one third of pregnancies. Pregnancy and subsequent miscarriages are typically diagnosed early in the first trimester in the REI/ART population. Currently, standard management options include expectant management, medical management, and surgical management with dilation and curettage. There are several disadvantages to “blind” dilation and curettage, including risk of adhesion formation and post-procedural retained products of conception. This video demonstrates a newer approach for management of early pregnancy loss with targeted resection using a hysteroscopic morcellator. This video demonstrates the benefits of hysteroscopy and shares tips for successful completion of the procedure, as well as suggestions for optimal patient selection.
