Abstract
Rationale: At the end of February 2020 the first SARS-COV2 related pneumonia was diagnosed in Italy and soon the disease spread all over the country. It is well demonstrated that malnutrition is related to worse outcomes in many acute and chronic diseases and that ICU stay is often associated to worsening of nutritional status leading to ICU acquired weakness. Peculiar COVID-19 clinical feature is the Cytokine Storm leading to a Systemic Inflammatory Response Syndrome with multiple organ impairment and metabolic imbalances.
