Abstract
Abstract The importance of international cooperation in neurosurgery incl. site visits to foreign hospitals is highlighted. The development of knowledge about function localization in brain surgery serves as an example. International cooperation led to modern day neurosurgery as shown e.g. in awake craniotomy.
