Abstract

(Abstracted from JAMA 2023;330(16):1547–1556 Worldwide, about 2.93 million pregnancies are complicated by gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) annually. GDM is associated with an increased risk of maternal adverse outcomes, such as weight gain, cesarean delivery (CD), and preeclampsia, as well as fetal adverse outcomes, such as admission to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) due to birth injuries and respiratory disease.
